Age: 15
How old were you when you were diagnosed with Aspergers: I was 7. The Dr.'s thought I had Autism until my mom took me off of dairy products. A lot of my issues got better and my diagnosis was changed to Asperger's. I guess that is why my family has always seen Asperger's Syndrome as kinda a good thing.
How does your Aspergers affect you: I seem to feel, hear and sense things more than other people. A lot more. I don't wear jeans. I only wear comfy clothes. I can either get really super hyper focused on something I like or forget about stuff that isn't that important to me. I spend hours every day drawing or sculpting little clay figures. I also research my favorite subjects, like animation and TV shows, a lot.
How do you know Christie: Ur. Um. Barely. I mean I know her as a friend just not really know her as much as my other friends like her brother. My parents and her parents are good friends. We don't hang out together much. She kinda likes to be isolated. I like to be isolated too. So basically we don't hang out much because we both like to be isolated and you can't do that together.
Why are you writing this blog: It might be cool to put some neat things on it. But also, my mom is making me.
Some of my favorite posts:

David, you have a great sense of humor! I love how you are able to express your feelings so well. My kids love any kind of art they can get their hands on. I can't wait to see more of your awesome work on this blog. (Even if your Mom made you do it). :)

I'm one of your Mom's scrapbook friends. I've only met her once, but maybe you already know, in the paper world, that common thread makes us friends! I think your mom and dad have raised a pretty cool kid! My grandson has aspergers too .

Your grandma is my bff, so I've learned a lot of Asperger's from her stories about you. I think a lot of people will find your blog interesting!

David is an amazing young man, and I am not just saying that because he is my first grandchild. Not only is he a wonderful artist, but he has a great sense of humor and has always been able to make us all laugh until we had tears streaming down our faces. I used to love walking around my house after he had been for a visit because I would find all kinds of creations that he had left behind, people made from twist ties, paper clips, or play dough; wonderful drawings of fantastical creatures and battles, and once found all of my thread - and there is a lot- in perfect order by color! His mind is always going and so full of interesting things that sometimes I wish I could jump in there and know everything that he is thinking. I am so excited about the blog and getting to see more of his work and thoughts.
Hugs and love from your biggest fan, David!!!

David (and Christie) your blog is awesome! I heard about it from your mom's Facebook page. See, I follow your mom's blog partly because I'm a scrapbooker and found her that way, but also because she talks about you. I have a 10 year old boy who has Asperger's. Thanks for using your voice to teach people. It's seriously awesome.

Hi David! I'm one of your mom's scrapbooking friends, although we have never met in real life. I've watched you and your brothers grow up on her blog and scrapbook layouts. I have 3 boys too! I'm excited that you and your friend Christie have started a blog. Way cool!

David you're an amazing artist! So happy you & Christie are doing the blog. My son is 10 and has Asperger's ( he too loves his comfy clothes and no shoelaces). I'll be sharing your social stories with him and look forward to more posts. :)

My son was diagnosed at 7 and is now 21. I homeschooled from the point of diagnosis because I was an elementary teacher. I could write a book on all the ups and downs, the joys and heartaches and maybe one day I will. We chose not to medicate. Last summer after turning 21 he began to experience deep frustration and we were sent to a new doctor. Life changing results. Vitamin 5htp has completely changed my sons life. We were already dairy free and now we have cut all gluten. The key was the 5 htp. Please investigate this natural supplement because it has truly been a life changing ingredient.
