I'm guessing a lot of kids do not like having their picture taken. I do not. I used to hate it. I wasn't sure what to do or how long it would last. I am better at it now..even though I still do not like it.
My mom will tell me very specifically what she wants me to do and how many photos she will take. I say how many and she says 12 and I kinda sigh and then it is over in, like, a minute.
Sometimes, when I am in the middle of doing something, Mom will just say, "You don't have to stop what you are doing, just turn your head towards me." That is ok. I don't like having to stop doing something to have my picture taken of me almost doing something. (This is me in Colonial Williamsburg. If these are colonial time trees, we probably shoudn't have climbed on them.)
Or Mom will say, "Go over there and hold these two numbers over your head and let me take 5 pictures." That isn't too bad because then I know what to do. (This was for my 15th birthday).
The worst is posing with other people and having to wait for them to do the right thing. The sooner you do what the photographer wants, the sooner it is over. I don't know if my brothers have figured this our yet.
I am pretty sure Mom told me to sit on this step, cross my arms on my knees and look like I was happy. She also said it was important to her to have a good picture of me and that she wouldn't take more than 27. I said, "What? 27!" Then she said "O.k, just 14." Maybe she was teasing me with 27 or maybe I talked her down to 14.
So be specific and honest when taking pictures. And don't take 27. Nobody needs 27.
I think I probably I need 27!!!! Oh, guess what I want for my birthday- more pictures of my grandkids! :)
